Our Staff
Our team brings together a diverse group of people with various skills sets and passions. Our staff use their unique skill sets, experiences and perspectives to advocate resolutely for reform across the Victorian mental health and wellbeing system and uphold the MHV values of service, respect, one team, integrity, courage and achievement.
Phillipa joined MHV as CEO to lead the organisation in collective actions pursuing a better mental health and wellbeing system for Victoria. Phillipa’s past work with the Victorian Government and as a Clinician has given her a holistic experience in both client facing care and system reform which she brings to us now in her role.
As CEO, she leads collaborative efforts to advocate for and support a modern, accessible mental health system, support a thriving workforce, and promote impactful sector reforms. Her work connects people, influences policy, and sustains momentum for positive change in mental health across Victoria.
Brontë is a public policy leader passionate about rights-based policy, reform, and programs that respond to the needs of the community it is intended to serve. Prior to joining MHV, she worked in the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments to progress First Nations justice. Brontë leads MHV’s policy and advocacy activities, working with our Associates and LLEAG, to influence the transformation towards a consumer-led rights-based system. In her spare time, she enjoys Melbourne brunches, hiking, and hanging out with other peoples’ dogs.
Shane brings over 20 years of experience in finance and governance across the non-profit and commercial sectors. Passionate about enhancing the mental health sector, Shane is a strong advocate for the transformative impact of non-profits on individuals and communities. At MHV, Shane oversees financial and business operations, ensuring the team can focus on driving system reform and improving the lives of workers and consumers, fostering meaningful change where it matters most.
Teone is an experienced problem solver, advocator, and communicator, having applied her skills to both legal and policy roles. She has personal and professional insights into the mental health system, having witnessed many people struggle accessing effective and appropriate treatment. Teone is motivated by the opportunity to develop proactive solutions that elevate people and create meaningful change for the community. Outside of work Teone loves gardening, listening to music and hanging out with her cat Lola.
Jason brings 20 years of experience in healthcare communications, spanning peak professional bodies, patient organisations, technology startups, non-profits and state government. With lived experience of mental health challenges, Jason is driven to contribute meaningfully to mental health reform in Victoria. As a skilled content writer, his role encompasses public affairs, media, strategic communications, campaigns, and the development of submissions, reports, and position papers, all aimed at fostering impactful change in mental health systems.
Tayla brings valuable experience as a former Suicide Prevention Officer, where she supported diverse communities through training and community engagement. With lived and living experience of mental ill health and neurodiversity, Tayla is passionate about creating an inclusive, accessible mental health system for everyone. At Mental Health Victoria, she manages internal projects, supports design initiatives, and coordinates events to foster engagement and collaboration across the sector.
With over 15 years of experience in non-profit community services, healthcare, and children’s services, Jack is passionate about advocating for better mental health support and fostering positive change. Jack works closely with associates and the Department of Health to administer grants, deliver training, and build capability across the sector. His dedication focuses on improving access to care and strengthening Victoria’s mental health system.
Keertana brings a strong academic background in sociology and ethics, with ongoing studies in psychology, alongside professional experience in research, impact evaluation, and project management within the AOD and disability non-profit sectors. She has collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders, including government, educational institutions, community organisations, and corporates. At Mental Health Victoria, Keertana leads engagement through the Associate program, fostering collaboration and supporting initiatives that improve mental health outcomes across Victoria.
Diana is a creative writer, storyteller and editor who enjoys strategic communications and creating engaging multimedia content. After completing her Master of Communications, Diana has worked exclusively for not-for-profits including VMIAC and Hagar International. Before her digital communications career, Diana completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences and worked in public and private health services. Diana wishes to use her educational, work and lived/living experience to help build a better mental health system for all Victorians.
