We’re excited to announce a huge crop of new training offerings for Semester 2. Highlights include suicide prevention training that accrues CDP points, and a suite of courses designed to build leadership skills across the sector.
These new trainings come via partnernships with three leaders in the workplace training field.
MHV has partnered with Fundamental Training and Development to offer the Leadership Suite: a series of courses that build leadership skills with a special focus on mentally healthy practice.
Foster your leadership skills with ‘Leading others through change’, ‘Leadership development’ and ‘Mentoring and coaching’; build on your existing leadership practice with ‘Resilience building’ and ‘Courageous conversations’; and prepare to lead change in your organisation with ‘ChangeAbility’.
Find out more about these courses here.
Adding on to our Certificate IV in Peer Work, MHV is proud to present a new set of accredited training and courses that allow accrual of Continual Professional Development (CPD) points.
In partnership with Suicide Programs, we are now offering ‘Accidental Counsellor’, a program that provides participants with an understanding of the counselling process and strategies for dealing with people in crisis.
For those looking to improve their awareness and ability to respond to people considering suicide, we now offer CALM Suicide Intervention Training.
Both of these offerings allow accrual of CPD points.
In accredited training, we are joining with the Health Issues Centre in offering a Graduate Certificate in Consumer and Community Engagement, and for those beginning their journey as a leader in the lived experience space, ‘Consumer Leadership’.
Find out more about accredited and CPD-applicable training here.
We’re also still offering our bespoke training in the foundations of peer work, Mental Health First Aid and awareness, self-care strategies for mental health workers and motivational interviewing. Visit our training registration page for more information.
A 25 per cent discount for Mental Health Victoria Members and Supporters applies to all of these trainings, apart from the accredited courses. Most of our courses are also able to be customised and delivered 'in-house' to your organisation. Please contact learning@mhvic.org.au for more information.
